How To: Pairing an Xbox Controller to an iPad
September 24, 2019

Have more control over your games!

With iOS 13 (and iPadOS), iOS devices are now compatible with console controllers. This means that you can now use the DualShock 4 controller or the Xbox controller on your iPhone or iPad to play games.

If you have any of the console controllers, you can do the following steps to connect your controller (or just watch the video below):

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Put your controller into pairing mode. On the Xbox controller, just press and hold the Xbox logo and on the DualShock 4, just press and hold the PS logo
  3. A pairing request should appear on the iOS device. Once it appears, tap ‘Pair’.
  4. Your controller is now connected. You can now search the App Store for compatible games where you can use a controller.
