Use Snapchat Lenses on your video conferences.
Most of us are now working from home and utilizing online video conferencing apps to communicate with colleagues while also using the same method to communicate with friends and relatives. Most of these apps offer the ability to change backgrounds – but there’s also a way to make these video calls even more fun.
Snapchat is probably the first app you’ll think of when thinking about AR filters. From the dog filters to funny faces, it’s one way to liven up your Snaps. This is why Snapchat has launched the Snap Camera desktop app, so you can apply these effects using your webcam, and in turn, use them on any app you use for video calls.
Snap Camera gives you access to a variety of Lenses previously only offered on the app. These Lenses are refreshed daily with new ones being added made by creatives around the world. There’s even a special Work From Home Lens that puts a virtual suit and tie on you, even if you’re just wearing your PJs.
Here’s a quick guide on how to install and use Snap Camera:
Download the Snap Camera installer that’s available for PC and Mac.
Launch the Setup Wizard to start the installation.
Once the installation is done, run through the initial setup.
The main window has a preview of the AR effect you’ve applied and you can browse and search for more effects below.
I think my boss would enjoy seeing me as a pickle.
When you start your next video conferencing app, simply choose Snap Camera as the camera source to enable the effect (make sure Snap Camera is open).
