In the need of an ultra-elegant open-top? This one will do. Bentley’s Grand Convertible brings luxury to the table with full use of the finest materials, as part of the automotive brand’s iconic luxe image, and made Sequin Blue our new favorite color.
The new car’s classy physique flaunts “liquid metal” on the bonnet and windscreen frame. The directional wheel design gives some contrast to the Convertible’s sizzling blue exterior as its been finished by hand prior to getting a polish job for an eye-catching shine.
Bentley Chairman and CEO, Wolfgang Dürheimer, who unveiled the car in Los Angeles, commented: “This concept demonstrates Bentley’s ability to create a pinnacle convertible Grand Tourer, while embodying elegance beyond compare. With this car we combine the opulent Mulsanne experience with the full sensory indulgence of open air touring, continuing to unite luxury and performance in new way. We are eagerly awaiting the response of our customers to this car. We will ensure that this car – if it reaches the roads – will be a highly exclusive, extremely limited collector’s piece.”
Just as Bentley’s flagship Mulsanne boasts the legendary 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the Grand Convertible matches that performance with 1,100 Nm (811 lb.ft) of torque. The interior is just as great, with Bentley’s iconic progressive-diamond leather quilt and Sequin Blue hand-stitched threading to complement the exterior. Beluga leather hugs the top of the doors and extends to the rear tonneau with a polished chrome frame. Wood veneer accents are also part of the exquisite deign.
The Bentley Grand convertible has made its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 19-30) and will soon be featured at Art Basel in Miami from December 4-7.
