A total of 240 Mini drivers across Lebanon gathered on the early morning of June 28, for a trek into the hilly hills of a distant, secret location as organized by Bassoul-Heneine SAL, Lebanon’s official Mini importer. T3 Middle East was given the honor to attend as press.
After congregating at ABC Debayeh, where a local breakfast was served to the tune of saj manakish and the like, a 240-strong convoy of a diverse range of Mini models filed out and hit the road. A spectacular stream of Minis then paraded in orderly, vintage fuelled fashion, following a Mascot Mini as designated by the organizers with a green makeshift froggy sat on its roof to lead the pack.
The secret destination was eventually revealed to be “Le Plateau de Bakish”, where a scenic hillside came alive with live music, as performed by Beirut’s blues n soul aficianados Ruby Road, with vocalist Layal Bouheiry giving the lucky crowd an earful of a gorgeous repertoire comprised of originals and blues classics. In the meanwhile, a lavish buffet was served to the Mini loyalists, with a diverse range of cuisines. Approximately 700 people gathered and took part, contributing to the love of Mini Cooper with a festive spirit.
