It all dates back to the late 60’s, when the five Rasamny brothers decided to invest in Lebanon and establish their own dealership. Establishing a strong partnership with Nissan, they introduced Datsun, Nissan’s fastest selling brand in the Lebanese market. The brothers opened Nissan’s state-of-the-art showroom in the 80’s, making the brand the star of Lebanon’s roads and the #1 in Lebanon in terms of sales, an achievement that stood out globally.
Today as Rasamny Younis Motor Co. (RYMCO) and Nissan partnership celebrates 50 years, Fayez Rasamny, the 3rd generation of the Rasamny family to hold the position of CEO of RYMCO commented that “Nissan-RYMCO’s partnership is reined by confidence and strength. In 1998, RYMCO became the first automotive dealer on the Beirut Stock Exchange. Thanks to Nissan, RYMCO stayed in the lead for 5 consecutive years, maintaining the largest market share in Lebanon. Between 2009 and 2010 the company expanded its operations internationally to cover Middle East, Africa and China. 2018 was a year packed with several milestones, RYMCO achieved the highest sales amongst all automotive dealers in Lebanon and Nissan sales grew by 21%.
