The IWC Portofino Moon Phase 37 harks back to the sweet spirit of the 1960s with a valiant glow of liberty and change. Its ornate moon phase display derives heavy influences from the original Portofino from 1984 with a picturesque scene that it beams: a moon being engulfed by a haze of clouds, hanging idle in space in a star speckled sky, as translated through a mess of diamonds.
Using caliber 35800 movement, it has 25 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. Luxury-watch aficionados will be wowed with a swoon-inducing feature – a display that shows the moon in its various phases. Its 37 millimeter case makes it appropriate for slender wrists, and it is water-resistant to 3 bar. These slight returns do not take away from its delicate modernity. The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase is no old-timer as reflected through its craftsmanship.
