MWC 2019 commences next week, here’s what to expect.
The biggest mobile tech show in the world starts next week at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 opens in Barcelona. The event will see various announcements from different manufacturers that will cover all mobile devices. T3ME will be present on the show floor and we will be bringing you the best of what the smartphone world has to offer.
As MWC 2019 will only start next week, here are a couple of rumors and announcements that are already floating the interwebs:
LG – LG’s upcoming flagships the G8 and the V50 are scheduled to make an appearance at MWC. Expect more AI-powered features thanks to the new ThinQ branding along with improved specifications – though we may have to wait and see if LG’s new devices will be at par with its competitors.
Xiaomi – Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is also expected to debut its next flagship this week right before MWC. The Mi 9 has already been leaked in detail, and it looks like it is going to the company’s best smartphone yet.
Nokia – HMD Global is bringing the PureView brand with the release of the PureView 9 that features a whopping 5-lens camera. The PureView brand has been known to deliver some of the best images you’d find on a smartphone (remember their 41-megapixel shooter?) so we’re excited to see what this 5-lens camera can do.
Sony – Despite some struggles with the smartphone market, Sony is still scheduled to announce new Xperia smartphones during MWC. This includes a new triple camera setup that will be present on the Xperia XZ4 along with a new ‘taller’ display on the Xperia XA3.
Energizer – The company mostly known for making batteries has actually manufactured smartphones before. This MWC, the company has already said that it will be announcing a whopping 26 new devices during the show including one that will have an 18,000 mAh battery – that should be something that’s worth checking out.
Huawei – One of the top mobile manufacturers has been announcing a few devices in the past few weeks, so won’t be surprised if they have more devices waiting to be revealed.
Samsung – The Korean company is already scheduled to announce the Galaxy S10 in a separate event on February 20th, so we’ll get to see early what smartphones they have planned for 2019. Rumors also point to a new foldable smartphone along with a few accessories including a new smartwatch and even wireless earbuds.
