All Android-based smartphones are coming this year.
HMD Global has finally unveiled its latest roster of Android One smartphones that prove that the Nokia brand is here to stay. We’re getting the Nokia 210, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and highly anticipated Nokia 9 PureView that comes with a five-camera array.
First up is the Nokia 210 is the most affordable smartphone in the lineup that lets you browse the web for hours and play Snake without any worry of draining the battery. It will be available starting from March with a retail price of only 100 AED.
The Nokia 1 Plus is the latest addition to the Android Go lineup. It runs on the latest version of Android Pie and brings in the same high-quality Nokia design partnered with a big screen. The Nokia 1 Plus will be available this March with a retail price of 299 AED.
Next is the Nokia 3.2 that features a large 6.26-inch HD+ display and a two-day battery life. It also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 CPU and has a physical button for summoning Google Assistant that you can also use as a walkie-talkie. The Nokia 3.2 will come in May for a retail price of 569 AED for the 3 GB/32 GB variant and 469 AED for the 2 GB/16GB variants.
The Nokia 4.2 features sculpted glass and an all-screen to match the modern trend in smartphone screens. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset along with a physical Google Assistant button. It runs Android 9 Pie and even features a dual depth-sensing camera. The Nokia 4.2 will arrive this May with a retail price of 599 AED.
But probably the star of Nokia’s keynote is the hugely-anticipated Nokia 9 PureView which is the first smartphone to have a five camera array system with ZEISS optics. The camera consists of two color sensors and three monochromatic sensors that will give you the best image quality possible. Nokia said that the PureView 9 is able to collect up to 10 times more light compared to a regular sensor and coupled with HDR this brings probably the best images you’d ever see from a smartphone.
Other features of the Nokia 9 PureView include a 2K pOLED PureDisplay screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and wireless charging. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back glass panels. The Nokia 9 PureView will retail for 2,299 AED and will be available starting next month.
We’re personally excited for the Nokia 9 PureView and hopefully, it will bring back the days when Nokia’s cameras were amongst the best – easily beating market leaders like Apple and Samsung.
