But is it too late for the brand?
While it’s already known that Sony’s mobile business isn’t exactly flying high, the company is still determined to release a new Xperia smartphone during this month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The upcoming Xperia XZ4 might be Sony’s last smartphone – so there’s no doubt that it should be the best one. Based on recent leaks online, the Xperia XZ4 is looking to have the highest sensor ever found on a smartphone – 52 megapixels with a larger f/1.6 aperture. This will easily beat the recently released Honor View 20’s 48-megapixel camera.
Not only that, but the Xperia XZ4 will sport a triple-camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.6 aperture and another 0.3-megapixel Time-of-Flight sensor with an f/1.4 aperture in addition to the 52-megapixel sensor.
Little is known about the Xperia XZ4, but if this is indeed Sony’s last premium flagship, then they must go out guns blazing since the world of smartphones is just getting more competitive especially with new players like Huawei already challenging the profits of market players like Samsung and Apple.
