Takes on Microsoft and Google with their own email service based on their cloud computing technology.

CNET is reporting that ecommerce giant Amazon will be launching a new email and calendar service made for businesses.

Called WorkMail, the service will be powered by Amazon Web Services, the company’s cloud computing subsidiary. It is looking into competing with related services such as the ones being offered by Google and Microsoft. It was also said that the company is looking into pricing its services in the same bracket as Microsoft’s Office 365 services.

WorkMail will be compatible with all clients such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. Amazon says that like all corporate-based services, WorkMail will be encrypted and will also offer the same level of security offered by Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services currently powers the services being offered by Netflix, Pinterest, Airbnb, NASA and even the CIA.
