Apple just sold its billionth iPhone

July 28, 2016

That’s a lot of iPhones.

Apple hit another milestone – and that’s selling 1 billion iPhones. The feat was achieved after the company’s financial report, which cited about 48 million iPhones shipped in the last quarter of 2015.

Additionally, part of the success was due to the launch of the iPhone SE – while it didn’t excite fans as much as the other flagship iPhones, CEP Tim Cook said that the device was still ‘very successful’. He said that the device proved to most popular in emerging markets and was a top choice for most users purchasing their first iPhones.

Cook also pointed out the huge sales numbers it has gotten from India, Japan, Turkey and Russia – all while pointing out a good number of users switching from Android to the iPhone.

iPhone sales are currently declining – but that’s normal given that the next generation iPhone is scheduled to be announced by September.
