Etisalat is the first telecom provider to support it.
One of the best features of the Apple Watch 3, when it debuted last year, is support for cellular connectivity. But users in the UAE weren’t enthusiastic since the availability of the cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 3 is limited to only a few countries.
That will change next week because Apple has officially announced that the cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 3 will be available for pre-order on June 8th and can be purchased on June 15, just in time for Eid.
The Apple Watch typically needs to be tethered to an iPhone for it to receive calls, messages and stream music but with the cellular option, it somehow makes the smartwatch more independent.
At the moment, only Etisalat has announced its support for cellular services on the Apple Watch, where you would need to pay a fee to enable it.
Pricing for the Apple Watch 3 with Cellular starts at 1,679 AED for the 38 mm version and 1,784 AED for the 42 mm version. More details can be found at Apple’s UAE portal.
