As the 5G Era dawns, here are a few reasons why the Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) is the King of 5G smartphones!
July 13, 2019

Available for pre-order starting July 11th

The 5G era is finally upon us, as Huawei officially launched its first 5G commercial smartphone – the Mate 20 X (5G) in the UAE. Boasting an innovative dual-core chipset design, optimized telecommunications algorithms and AI smart power management systems and download speeds of up to 1GB per minute, the Mate 20 X (5G) truly stands apart from other entrants in the space.

And being a Huawei offering, a whole spate of world firsts are almost understood. Take for instance, the fact that the Mate 20 X (5G) is the world’s first dual-sim 5G smartphone (5G SIM+4G SIM) to support Non-standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) 5G networks [in comparison with all 5G smartphones currently announced on or before 4th July 2019]. So what does that exactly mean?  The first wave of networks of 5G networks will be classed as Non-Standalone (NSA), meaning 5G networks will be supported by existing 4G infrastructure. However, moving forward there will be a switch to the 5G Standalone (SA) network which is the ultimate true 5G solution. China Telecom has announced that it will move to SA by 2020, meaning that only devices with SA support will work in China. This means that unlike other devices currently offering 5G support and single SIMs, a user of a  Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) is totally future proofed in that sense.

A potent blend of power and efficiency is key in the 5G age, and the Mate 20 X (5G) boasts an innovative dual-core chipset design, sitting the Balong 5000 chip alongside the AI-powered Kirin 980. The Balong 5000chip, the world’s first 7nm 5G multi-mode terminal is regarded as the benchmark for 5G  while the Kirin 980 is Huawei’s 7nm top-of-the-line SoC chip for AI-enabled smartphones.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Optimized telecommunications algorithms on the Mate 20 X (5G) increase the efficiency of signal transmission between smartphones and communication network devices while improving smartphone energy consumption. Take gaming, and GPU Turbo 3.0 greatly enhances the GPU efficiency, enabling the phone to have a smoother and higher frame rate, lower power consumption, and a longer battery life for playing games for the ultimate gaming experience. Currently, 25 internationally popular games and 60 Chinese mainstream titles are compatible with the Mate 20 X (5G)’s specs.

Add to these key highlights like exceptional battery life courtesy AI smart power management systems, optimized system performance courtesy EMUI 9.1, a 7.2” Ultra Large OLED dewdrop display and a powerful Matrix camera system consisting of a triple Leica camera setup, and continuous, stable and fast performance in the 5G age is the end result!

The Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) in Emerald Green will be available for pre-order at a price of AED 3,699 starting July 11th, 2019.
