Similar design and more smart features.
An ad for the upcoming Sony WH-1000X M4 noise-canceling headphone has leaked online and pretty much confirms earlier rumors about the company’s next great audio device. From the video above, it looks like the WH-1000X M4 will bear a similar design to the M3 released more than a year back. Instead, Sony has chosen to put more ‘smart’ features into it.
These smart features include an adaptive sound passthrough mode that’ supported on a per-location basis. There’s also support for DSEE extreme audio scaling for improved sound output. Other features include multi-device pairing along with up to 30 hours of battery life. Additionally, a ten-minute charge can already provide up to 5 hours of playback.
The WH-1000X M4 has already been leaked multiple times previously from online store listings, and given that the M3 is more than a year old we can expect Sony to be gearing up with its next flagship headphones.
Sony is also said to introduce the WH-1000X M4 at a similar $349 price, so expect an announcement in the next few days.
