It will have the same in-ear design as the AirPods Pro.
It has been a while since the AirPods were updated (unless you count the AirPods Max last December) but rumors are now floating around that confirms that Apple could possibly launch an updated model of its popular wireless earbuds.
The AirPods 3 will also have a smaller stem, and from the looks of the supposed leaked image, will also follow the design of the AirPods Pro. This, in turn, could confirm that the new AirPods 3 will have an in-ear design along with a redesigned small case that it uses for charging and storage. What’s more, the stem of the AirPods 3 will reportedly have the same force touch sensor found on the AirPods Pro.
The wireless earbuds will also have a vent system that will take care of pressure equalization to minimize discomfort when worn for long periods. The AirPods 3 won’t feature Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode, a feature exclusive to the more expensive variants (AirPods Pro and AirPods Max). An interesting tidbit though is that the AirPods 3 could feature Spatial Audio.
Expect the price to be similar to the original AirPods (around $150) with an expected announcement sometime next month. Then again, we’ve heard rumors that Apple might not go ahead with its annual March event, where it is said that they will be launching the new AirTags and a 2021 iPad Pro.
