Part camera, part sidekick.

Insta360 has officially announced the ONE X2, the next iteration of its popular 360 camera line. The camera features improved stabilization and shoots up to 5.7k 360 video. There’s also IPX8 waterproofing plus a 360 touch display. Dubbed as part camera, part sidekick, the ONE X2 offers AI-powered features on the Insta360 app and desktop software that automatically finds and edits your best shots.

The ONE X2 offers four ways to shoot: 360, Steady Cam, InstaPano, and MultiView. 360 lets you capture up to 5.7K resolution, Steady Cam lets you capture ultra-wide footage, InstaPano helps you capture incredible panoramas, and MultiView lets you display two camera angles at once using two fields of view.

The camera also utilizes the FlowState stabilization to keep your shots smooth and stable, with improved algorithms that make it better than its predecessors. Like previous models, the ONE X2 is also compatible with the Invisible Selfie Stick where you can capture angles similar to what a cameraman or a drone can do – without buying the extra hardware of course.

Insta360’s Shot Lab also offers various one-tap templates that you can immediately apply to your shots. Templates like Dolly Zoom and Stop Motion are all supported, mimicking the cinematic techniques that you only see in movies. TimeShift hyperlapse also makes a comeback, and on the ONE X2, it will be made compatible with the 360 and Steady Cam modes.

There’s also a PureShot mode that enhances images shot in low light, preserving detail while minimizing noise. AquaVision is also another feature that balances out colors when using the ONE X2 underwater without the need for an external filter.

The ONE X2’s 1630 mAh battery is enough to last for about 80 minutes, enough for you to take those epic shots and even edit it on the high definition touchscreen. Voice control is also supported, with support for Apple AirPods to control the camera and record audio for your videos.

Lastly, Insta360 has made ONE X2 work as a webcam, letting you utilize the ultra-wide-angle lens that is compatible with apps like Zoom and other video conferencing platforms. It even supports live streaming directly on Facebook and YouTube.

The Insta360 ONE X2 is now available to order at select retailers worldwide with a retail price of $429.99. Stay tuned for a full review.
