Palm-sized camera that packs a punch: Canon PowerShot ZOOM

Introducing Canon’s pocket-sized super-zoom camera.

Meet the Canon PowerShot ZOOM, a small, palm-sized 12-megapixel camera that features an easy-to-use 3 step zoom and image stabilization. Featuring a new design, the PowerShot ZOOM comes with a monocular-style lens that can take images and record Full HD video.

The camera comes with a 100mm, 400mm, and a digitally extended 800mm zoom that lets you get closer to the action. The PowerShot ZOOM’s 100mm and 400mm optical focal lengths can reach apertures of f/5.6 and f/6.3 respectively. It’s also compact, weighing just 145 grams, and comes with five buttons all accessible with one hand, and comes with a simplified menu display.

Also present is an electronic viewfinder with a minimalistic overlay plus a powerful DIGIC 8 processor that is able to provide sharp images. The PowerShot ZOOM supports 10fps burst speed shooting along with continuous autofocus with support for face tracking and 1-point AF options and USB Type-C for charging.

The PowerShot ZOOM lets you import and geo-tag images via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that you can immediately link to your smartphone. Live View is also supported where you can use your smartphone as a viewfinder.

Canon hasn’t revealed the price and availability of the PowerShot ZOOM, but we will update the information once it becomes available.
