CES 2015: A Swarovski-encrusted wearable? Oh, yes!

January 6, 2015

Misfit teams ups with Swarovski to unveil a new line of glamorous wearables.

It was bound to happen, from gold-plated smartphones and tablets, to diamond-encrusted cases, it seems jewelry is the only way to glam up your gadgets to separate yourself form the rest.

Misfit, which is a company known for making fitness sensors and sleep-tracking wearables, has teamed up with Swarovski to deliver the Swarovski Shine Collection, which what you think it is: a line of fitness trackers that is designed with Swarovski’s own crystals.

One product from the line is the Swarovski Shine Activity Tracking Crystal (yes, that’s the whole name) that utilizes Misfits own sensors and combines it with a Swarovski crystal. “This is the world’s first wireless activity and sleep monitor that utilizes an energy harvesting technology to enable it to never require charging or replacing of batteries. Simply expose the violet Swarovski Shine to light to keep it charged,” the company said in a statement.

The Swarovski Shine Collection will be waterproof and an app (initially available for iOS devices) will give you an overview of your activities including step tracking as well as logging food intake. Additionally, various accessories that include bracelets and wristbands will also be available.

What do you think of a Swarovski wearable? Too fancy or something that you would wear? Share us your thoughts!
