CES 2015: Shining the light on the Misfit Bolt

Misfit introduces the Bolt, an affordable connected light bulb.

Backed by former Apple CEO John Sculley, Misfit is now venturing into the home automation market by introducing the Bolt, a smart light bulb that you can control using an app.

Much like the Philips Hue, the Misfit Bolt can be connected through a smartphone where you can easily change its colors depending on your mood. The good thing about it? All Misfit products like fitness trackers and sleep monitors are compatible with the Bolt. That means that the light bulb can learn what time you sleep or wake and instantly leans from it you it can turn on gradually to wake you up, which somehow emulates the effect of a sunrise.

The Misfit Bolt is not on preorder at their website for $49.99 a bulb, or $129.99 for a pack of three bulbs. Check out how the Misfit Bolt functions in the video below:
