CES 2015: The Limited Edition 88 Tauri Smartphone

January 6, 2015

The device is limited to 1947 pieces, and is available in stores now

Had enough arguing and gossiping about smartphones for the everyman? CES 2015 had its own touch of hi-end smartphonery yesterday, as Tonino Lamborghini launched the Limited edition 88 Tauri Smartphone.

In terms of design, the iconic Tonino Lamborghini style comes through in the famous Raging Bull logo on the both sides of the phone. 88 Tauri offers 3 color variants of its metal panel (black, gold and steel silver) and is finished with top-quality leather available in 5 colors (black, blue, red, orange and brown). Each phone is assembled by hand and receives a unique device number. Only 1,947 pieces of each colorway will be created. This number was chosen to honor the year of birth of the company’s founder – Mr. Tonino Lamborghini.

Interestingly enough, for a niche smartphone, its got some very decent specs. Think 5” Full HD display, 64 GB internal memory, a Snapdragon 801 processor with quad-core CPU, 3GB RAM, Dual SIM, 20MP auto-focus camera with dual LED-flash and front-facing 8 MP camera plus a 3400 mAh. Just perfect for tonight’s premiere.

The 88 Tauri went on sale in select stores around the world starting yesterday, January 5, 2015. The device will cost upwards of $6,000, meaning the UAE and Saudi Arabia will be key markets.
