CES 2015: Will the Galaxy S6 really be showcased?

January 4, 2015

Will Project Zero be shown to the tech world come Jan 6?

The rumor mills have going all over with predictions on the Samsung Galaxy S6, also codenamed Project Zero. Sammobile has been our consistent partner in these leaks, and according to it Samsung will showcase both the Galaxy S6 and its variant during CES 2015, though maybe only to selected partners and not to consumers.

As for the specs, Sammobile states that the Galaxy S6 might feature a QHD Super AMOLED display, Android 5.0 Lollipop, an Exynos 7420 SoC or a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and LTE Cat. 9/10 connectivity. According to the site, multiple prototypes of the Galaxy S6 have surfaced through AnTuTu benchmark, one with a 16-megapixel camera, and the other with a 20-megapixel camera

If the Galaxy S6 does launch at CES 2015, it would be a digression from Samsung’s usual release cycle. The Galaxy S5 was launched at MWC last year, the Galaxy S4 in March 2013 and the Galaxy S3 in May 2012.  The rumoured dates first came from Korean site Chosun Biz, which cited analysts working for Mirae ASSET Securities (MAS) in South Korea. According to them, the likeliest window for a Galaxy S6 release would be between January 6 and 9.

Will the Galaxy S6 be launched in the next 48 hours? Watch this space…
