The company has just acquired EMC for $67 billion.

Every now and then, we see big deals are happening all around and while a few makes the headlines with their acquisitions, this recent one by Dell could be the biggest one in history.

Dell has just announced that it is acquiring data storage company EMC to the tune of $67 billion. In a press release, Michael “The combination of Dell and EMC creates an enterprise solutions powerhouse bringing our customers industry leading innovation across their entire technology environment. Our new company will be exceptionally well-positioned for growth in the most strategic areas of next generation IT including digital transformation, software-defined data center, converged infrastructure, hybrid cloud, mobile and security.”

EMC is already one of the known enterprise companies on the market. With EMC approving details of the merger, each EMC shareholders will receive a compensation of about $33.15 per share.

This move might put Dell to be on the biggest enterprise companies, a swift move to make the company more valuable considering the slowdown of PC sales in which Dell has various products at the moment.
