Group 42 (G42), which is an Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing Company based in Abu Dhabi have just announced that its Artemis supercomputer was just ranked 26th on the list of the world’s top 100 supercomputers. This will be the first time a company based here in the UAE has made it into the TOP100 supercomputers list.
Artemis aims to help various ecosystems and research communities which could benefit from its supercomputing power. Group 42 has partnered with Nvidia to help deploy the first phase of the supercomputer which can actually deliver a whopping 7.2 petaflops of double-precision HPL performance.
It’s not really a normal desktop PC, but supercomputers like the Artemis help solve complex mathematical computations faster, which in turn could help unlock potentials in different areas of science.
“As a leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence, we are proud to launch the Artemis supercomputer and AI platform to empower researchers and organizations to accelerate innovation and solve real-world problems. This unprecedented capability is the result of our commitment to deliver the region’s most advanced and trusted cloud infrastructure,” said Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42.
