DJI have announced the latest addition to the Osmo series, the Osmo Mobile 3. The new version of the portable mobile phone stabilizer is foldable apart from being lightweight.

Not being able to easily pack away the Osmo Mobile was a common complaint with the first two generations, and the fact that the Mobile 3 is much easier to fold and pack away will appeal to many.

Always felt a lack of fluidity with switching the smartphone’s orientation from portrait to landscape? On the Osmo Mobile 3, just tap the “mode” button three times, and the gimbal will rotate the smartphone automatically.

Overall optimised ro weight and size, controls on the Mobile 3 have also been streamlined so the new Osmo Mobile is easier to use one-handed. The Osmo Mobile 3 has roughly the same 15-hour battery life as its predecessor, though it now charges via USB-C.

In terms of tech, DJI is including some features from hi-end devices like the Ronin SC gimbal and the RoboMaster S1 toy tank, with features like Sport mode, Active Track, DJI’s computer vision tracking system, time-lapse, hyperlapse, panorama, gesture control, and a story mode that automatically edits footage together for beginners.

Osmo Mobile 3 will be available for purchase from authorized retailers in early September, starting at 399 AED for the standard version which includes Osmo Mobile 3, wrist strap, storage pouch and anti-slip pads or 479 AED for the Osmo Mobile 3 combo which includes all the components of the standard version along with the Osmo Grip Tripod and the Osmo Carrying Case.
