No fake or counterfeit products will be sold.
Officially announced today, DubaiStore is a new e-commerce marketplace created by the Digital Economy Solutions (DES) that aims to help small and medium businesses as an alternative (or healthy competition as they describe it) to bigger and more popular platforms.
What makes DubaiStore unique is that it will only cater to online sales of products that are offered by various UAE-license home businesses and SMEs. Products range from electronics, beauty, fragrance, home and kitchen appliances to fashion accessories with more categories being added regularly.
The aim of DubaiStore is to promote local licensed businesses with no conflict of interest with the sellers because it doesn’t own or sell any of their own products.
“Following the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, who launched in 2019 the emirate’s e-commerce strategy that aims to strengthen Dubai’s status as a global logistics platform and accelerate online commerce growth, DES has developed a smart strategy to drive growth and support economic diversification in Dubai,” Abdallah Hassan Ahmed Hassan, CEO of Digital Economy Solutions (DES) said in a statement.
“DubaiStore is a true example of DES and the government’s local contribution in accelerating the strategic plans and smart government initiatives aiming at digital transformation in Dubai. Our objective is to offer a business model that increases healthy competition in the market for the benefit of the e-commerce world while maintaining the best environment for safe and trusted shopping,” he added.
DubaiStore will let sellers create their own microsites where they can upload products and process orders along with communicating directly with consumers. Consumers will be able to pay by credit card, noqodi Digital Wallet or even cash on delivery. There’s also fast next-day shipping and free 15-day return policy.
