Eleven minutes of otherworldly animations? Thank you, Clinton Jones
July 12, 2021

Artist Clinton Jones, aka pwnisher, had a challenge to animators to create their own 3D animated scene based on a bare-bones animation he created. Jones’ animation showed a side view of a person walking, leaning forward, taking large (slightly theatrical) steps. The ground extends into the background under a large orb, or giant hot air balloon perhaps. Wholly interpretative, artists were challenged to make something original. What is that large orb in the background? What is causing the character to struggle walking forward? They were encouraged to create as their hearts interpreted.

Watch his 100 chosen clips, and we are transported to another artist’s take on a reality that has shades of the original animation. Whether shades of Studio Ghibli, stop-motion videos, dragons from world afar and multiple ventures into the dark side, this is truly inspiring.

Pwnisher chose these 100 from over 2400 entries, and here they are, broken up into themes of fantasy, adventure, video games and comics.
