Check out Game On, the World’s First Virtual Gaming Festival
July 21, 2020

Targeting 2.7 billion gamers globally.

GEM Events has just announced Game On, a new 100 percent free to attend and fully customizable virtual gaming festival. As the world’s first virtual gaming festival, Game On will bring in various experiences that can be tailored for each visitor. The event will include big-name guest artists and even livestream competitions.

GEM Events, who were the organizers of the Insomnia Gaming Festival heald in Dubai and Saudi, were the brains behind Game On. Insomnia brought the FaZe Clan and The Sidemen, who were some of the most popular esports organizations in the world.

Research has shown that the MENA region is home to the world’s most active gaming community with 377.1 million gamers with a 25 percent year-on-year growth. This makes this region one of the fastest growing online gaming population in the world. This is also the reason why GEM Events chose MENA as the hub for Game On.

The idea is to introduce a new creative platform that would enable companies to engage with visitors in a whole new way. This means that visitors on Game On can create and customize an avatar and navigate the festival grounds.

“This is a monumental year for the gaming industry,” says James Magee, CEO, and Co-Founder of GEM and Game On, “there has been a major shift to online content and events, and we wanted to offer a platform for the industry to expand the reach of traditional festivals. We are very proud of our success last year with Insomnia, and we believe that the online sphere offers a far greater reach and endless growth potential. We are confident that, with our global partners, we will bring together the largest gaming audience in the world.”

Game On will still have physical events in addition to virtual ones, and its aim is to draw in over 10 million in its first year.
