Pokémon Go Fest returns this July

April 29, 2021

The global event will take place on July 17-18, 2021.

The annual Pokémon Go Fest is back this summer, and just like last year, it will also take place as a virtual event due to the ongoing pandemic. Pokémon Go Fest normally takes places as an in-person event in select cities around the world.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Pokémon, so it’s sure that there is a lot of big things planned for the tournament. In a blog post, Niantic said: “What does this year’s event have in store? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see! 2021 marks both the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokémon and the fifth anniversary of Pokémon GO, so trust us when we say you won’t want to miss Pokémon GO Fest 2021! We can’t wait to celebrate another summer together.”

The developers also noted that last year’s Pokémon Go Fest was a huge success even if it took place in a virtual setting. 2020’s Pokémon Go Fest drew millions of trainers from almost 124 countries around the world with each player walking nearly 15 kilometres on average.

Pokémon Go Fest 2021 will take place on July 17-18, 2021.
