For the next GNR album, AmpliTube is Slash’s choice!
June 1, 2021

We have been hearing ever-more clearer rumors that new Guns N’ Roses music is coming arrive this year, and Slash has been super busy recording multiple demos. The guitar legend, who has a digital-first approach to creation, has been turning to IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube to write and record riffs for the highly anticipated effort.

AmpliTube Slash is a full-featured guitar effects processor and recording studio apps and software by IK Multimedia that lets you play, practice and record with Slash’s signature pedals and amplifier, and the iconic guitarist has been associated with IK Multimedia since 2012, when it first launched. Interestingly, the AmpliTube Slash collection also includes sounds from his 2018 solo album, Living the Dream.

In a new video, Slash details how the convenience of the plugin has shaped the way he makes music. “I did a lot of demos with AmpliTube, just because it was so convenient that you don’t have to leave the house. We’ll be on the bus or in my hotel room, I’ll take an idea, record it on AmpliTube, and then download it and send it over to the guys. And I do that all the time. It makes it a lot easier for me to write, and it also makes it a lot easier for me to get an idea down spontaneously.”

As Slash puts it, “AmpliTube has really improved. All things considered, it was great to begin with – no lie, it was pretty impressive just to start – but it’s gotten even better.”

AmpliTube Slash features models of all the legendary signature gear used by Slash in the studio and in his live performances. Now you can rock models of the legendary Marshall JCM Slash Edition Silver Jubilee, the Marshall AFD100 plus 6 of Slash’s signature guitar pedals and play along with Slash’s extensive discography or any music from your music library. Also included is a collection of Slash guitar tone preset settings, provided as starting points for your own tone tweaking or playing along.
