Years after the game is released, the game is still making money.

Grand Theft Auto V has reached another milestone even when the game has been released more than four years ago in 2013 – selling more than 75 million copies of the game across all platforms. In the gaming world, that’s a lot of money.

Additional statistics include 15 million copies sold since February of last year, which is not common for games that have been released for more than a year. IGN compared the sales to Mafia III, which currently now stands at 5 million copies sold – far from the more successful run of GTA V.

Grand Theft Auto V was first released in 2013 on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 with a PC version releasing months after. It was then released as a remastered version with updated graphics for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most successful games in history, combining open world gameplay with third person aspects. The mature content of the game was probably one of the reasons for its popularity, leading to some countries banning the games including the UAE.
