Game On: The Sega Genesis is making a comeback!
June 11, 2017

It will come with 85 games along with cartridge support.

AtGames has just announced the Sega Genesis Flashback, which will include 85 classic games from the platform including Sonic, Phantasy Star, Shining Force and Mortal Kombat series. But that’s not the awesome part, the new console will also have support for the original Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges that you can use and play on the device – a feature that’s noticeably missing from the Nintendo Classic Edition launched last year.

Included with the Sega Genesis Flashback is a pair of Genesis-style wireless controllers ALONG with two wired controllers if you miss the wires. The console will have 720p output along with a feature that lets you save, pause and even rewind the games you are playing.

Also launching as part of the Flashback series of devices from AtGames is the Atari Flashback 8 Gold with 120 built-in games including Pitfall, Asteroids and Space Invaders. There is also a cheaper Atari Flashback 8 variant with 105 games built-in. Both consoles will have dual wired and wireless controllers.

Lastly, the Atari Flashback Portable Game Player is a handheld device that will let you play classic titles such as Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Frogger and Pitfall with the option to add games through a microSD card slot. It will come with a 2.8-inch screen and will even support TV output.

All the consoles are scheduled to release this year.
