Promises to improve the state of the game, especially on last-generation consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 may be one of the most awaited games of 2020, but its launch was littered with game-breaking bugs especially on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The numerous complaints forced developer CD Projekt Red to offer refunds to gamers who aren’t satisfied with the quality.
Since its launch, the game has been regularly updated to fix these bugs, and today CD Projekt Red has released a video from co-founder Marcin Iwiński apologizing for the game’s current state. The company also revealed a roadmap as to when we can expect the updates along with free DLCs and the much-awaited next-gen upgrade.
Iwiński apologized in the video and asked not to find fault with any of their teams for what happened, and owns up the responsibility for the debacle. It went on to explain how the game launched with so many bugs despite delaying the game multiple times.
The game became so littered with bugs on the PS4 that Sony pulled out the game from the PlayStation Store and offered refunds. The company also faced legal actions with the bugs, saying that CD Projekt Red has misled the company’s investors and gamers about the state of the game.

CD Projekt Red also gave a glimpse of the current roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077, with the first major patch arriving in the next week that should address some of the bugs on last-gen consoles. Another major update will drop in February, promising more bug fixes in the coming months.
Along with that, the roadmap confirmed the free DLCs to arrive later in the year, along with the promised next-generation upgrades for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 only plays as a backward-compatible title on the new gaming consoles.
Despite the craziness that surrounded its launch, Cyberpunk 2077 still garnered positive reviews.
