Dead Island 2 leak gives us a glimpse of zombie mayhem

June 8, 2020

The game is still in development limbo.

Dead Island was a personal favorite when it came out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 a few years back and I even bought the Definitive Editions when it came out on current-generation consoles. When a sequel was announced in 2014 that showcased a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles (you can check out the awesome trailer below), many were excited as to how the series will be brought forward.

But after that trailer reveal during E3 2014, we never really heard that much about the game. Then news about the developers Deep Silver and Yager splitting up somehow gave an indication that the game will either be shelved or postponed. Thankfully, Sumo Digital took over the development, but that was in 2016 and while the game is still in development, we don’t really know when it will be released.

Just in the past day, a post on 4chan detailed a fully working build of Dead Island 2, which was set in three locations. The detail is great, making it look like an already-finished game. It also carried over the things we loved from the first game, which included shooting zombie heads and even stomping on them.

GamersPrey on YouTube published a look at the gameplay (check it out above), which makes us even more excited about Dead Island 2. But without any update from the developers or any news from its publishers, this is the closest we can get in getting a sequel to the famed zombie game.
