Riot Games MENA to incentivize eSports spectating during the tournament.
You stand a chance to win exclusive rewards simply by watching the intel Arabian Cup (IAC). Held in partnership with Riot Games, Intel, and Lenovo, it is one of the ways to engage more with fans in line with the growing interest of eSports gaming in the region.
The IAC resumes this October with Split Two starting with 13 teams who have won their respective national competitions. Playing League of Legends, Riot Games is also introducing a Twitch plug-in called ‘IAC Companion’ that will help increase fan engagement and attract new viewers. These viewers of course will get rewards every time they watch a match. You would need to link your Riot Games account with Twice to be able to get the rewards.
Some of the teams that you can follow include Siren eSports (Bahrain), Handless (Jordan), Fatigue Team (Iraq), Galaxy Racer Esports (UAE), Overmind (Algeria), Noobs Unleashed (Qatar), and Anubis Gaming (Egypt). Also competing are Divine Vendetta (Tunisia), TEAM WK (Oman), Titans Gaming Center (Kuwait), Summon Aery (Lebanon), Fox Gaming (Morocco), and EGZ (KSA).
The IAC will be held for eight weeks until the 21st of November where players will compete in a double round-robin format. The top eight teams will then advance to the Final Stage. Matches will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 8 PM UAE time.
Split One was held earlier this year between May to early last month, and saw more than 5,000 players from 1,000 teams participating.
“We have been thoroughly impressed with the quality we have witnessed during Split One of the Intel Arabian Cup which has resulted in some enthralling matches so far,” said Ali Muslumanoglu, General Manager of Riot Games MENA.
“This reaffirms how popular League of Legends is across the MENA region which is equally matched by the exceptional pool of talented gamers. At Riot Games, we are always looking at new ways of how we can engage with our fans and the ‘IAC Companion’ allows us to interact and reward our fans who are watching online. With the best teams set to go head-to-head, we are confident Split Two will raise the bar and provide plenty of drama,” he added.
