Games like Far Cry 5 and Alien Isolation now supports the feature.
FPS boost may be one of the best features to be supported on the Xbox Series X|S consoles. This feature allows any older title to double or at times even quadruple the number of frame rates for smoother gameplay. Taking advantage of the Xbox Series X|S’s new faster hardware, FPS boost was initially introduced in only a few titles, expanding to some EA titles last month. But now Microsoft is announcing that more games will be supported by the feature.
A new set of 74 games will get the special FPS boost treatment, which includes several Assassin’s Creed titles, Far Cry titles, a plethora of Lego games, and a personal favourite, Alien Isolation, which now runs at 60 fps. Some of the titles can reach up to 120fps which will look great especially if have the display for it.
Aside from having a compatible display, you need your Xbox Series X|S to be updated to the latest version and the feature to be turned on (accessible through the Settings menu). You can also check if the game you’re playing is running FPS boost by tapping the Xbox button and looking at the Guide overlay indicator on the upper right corner.
Owning an Xbox Series X|S doesn’t just mean you’re getting to play the latest games, but its also guaranteed that the classic games you used to play will look even better.
