Sony launches new DualSense colours – could a new PS5 design also launch?

May 16, 2021

I wouldn’t mind getting a red PS5.

Yes, stocks of the PS5 are still scarce, and while Sony admitted that these stocks will likely be limited until next year it didn’t stop them from announcing new colours of its awesome DualSense controller for the PS5. The new colours, Cosmic Red and Midnight Black, is a stark contrast to the white colour that originally came with the console.

The colours look great – though many are wondering if Sony is planning to release new colours of the PS5 or at least finally introduce its own faceplates that could alter the look of the console. In case you didn’t know, the white faceplates of the PS5 are completely removable, which means that you can easily change it to any available colour or design that you prefer.

Third-party companies originally released a couple of black plates for the PS5 but Sony intervened, citing unknown reasons. Still, it didn’t prevent other manufacturers from offering their own variant, including Dbrand. I must admit though, the Cosmic Red or even the Midnight Black DualSense controllers would look great next to a PS5 that isn’t white.

While Sony isn’t confirming anything about the new PS5 colours, it did say that the new DualSense controllers will be available as early as next month – and you can pre-order right now.
