It’s running on a virtual PC running Windows 95.
Technology has definitely come a long way since the early days of Windows computers. Over the years, the classic game Doom has been reprogrammed so it can run on different devices from smartwatches and even on the TouchBar of the Apple MacBook Pro. This time, Doom is now playable inside a virtual computer inside Minecraft.
Reddit user uDrunkMate shared his developed mod called VM Computers. This virtual PC runs Windows 95 and is nested inside Minecraft. To do this you would need to order virtual parts and then place an ISO inside a specific Minecraft folder for it to work. Many who have tried the game were successful in playing it.
It’s not perfect, but it does show how much you can do with Minecraft mods, letting users get creative in any way possible. It also shows how far technology has come. Doom originally required high-end hardware when it was launched in 1993 and it’s funny to know that it only now requires a fraction of power to run the game with today’s software and hardware.
