GITEX Shopper is back – here’s what you need to know

September 23, 2019

The biggest electronics sale in the region opens tomorrow.

For anyone who loves gadgets and other electronics, GITEX Shopper is that one event of the year where you can find the best deals and bargains if you’re looking to upgrade that new smartphone or laptop. Discounts range from the decent ones to outrageous ones, and you can enter a raffle draw where you can win more prizes.

If you’re new to GITEX Shopper, here are a few things that you should know:

Dates and Location – GITEX Shopper will take place tomorrow, 24-28 September 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Center inside the Sheikh Saeed Halls. Parking is scarce and is only recommended if you’re purchasing something huge otherwise it’s more convenient to take the train. Tickets cost 20 AED per person. The gates are open from 11 am to 11 pm for all five days.

Experience Zones – GITEX Shopper will include new zones where you can get hands-on on any product. There’s also a KidZania zone for the kids, Shopper Trade-In if you want to trade in your current devices and a Virtual Zone where you can live your wildest VR fantasies.

Raffle Draws – Visiting GITEX Shopper will let you enter various draws where you can win devices and other prizes. You stand a chance to win daily prizes that include iPhone XRs, Bissell vacuum cleaners, Honor smartphones and even discount vouchers from The Dubai Mall. There’s also a chance to win back 2,000 AED if you shop for goods worth 2,000 AED. Other prizes include a Scratch & Win raffle where you get to win cabin air purifiers and Tornado watches.

But the best price may probably be the brand new 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

Plan Ahead – Make a list of devices you want to buy so you don’t spend a lot of time roaming around the halls. It gets pretty crowded in the afternoon and night time so it’s best to visit in the morning. It’s also good to look around and check if prizes on different booths are consistent so you’re sure that you’re getting the best bargain.

Food and Beverage – While there will be food kiosks inside the halls, there’s a good chance that the prices will have a markup, so be sure to grab a bite before heading to GITEX Shopper.
