Google Duplex isn’t your ordinary AI
May 13, 2018

Natural conversations is the next step in the evolution of digital assistants.

By now you have already been used to seeing various virtual assistants on mobile devices in the form of Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant.

But during Google’s I/O keynote last week, it has introduced Duplex, its newest AI that now takes the form of a human-like voice that can mimic natural conversations.

The aim is to deliver a more natural sounding assistant that will make it look like you’re speaking to a real human. Google went even as far as to introduce ‘umms’ and ‘hmms’ as fillers to make talking more natural.

It’s an incredible concept that’s for sure, though some users are saying that they’re a little freaked out at how human-like it is sounding.
