The country will be first to experience ‘Project Ara’.
If you’re residing in Puerto Rico, consider yourself lucky since you’ll be the first country to experience Google’s first modular smartphone, currently called ‘Project Ara’. The announcement was made during the Project Ara Developers Conference last week.
If you’re not familiar with Project Ara, it is basically a modular smartphone that gives you one ‘endoskeleton’ where you can easily swap modules to add features or faster hardware to the smartphone – this means upgrading a smartphone will be easier than ever. You can also remove and upgrade modules even while the device is on, along with the ability to customize the module shells with any design that you like.
Google said that Project Ara will be available in Puerto Rico later this year. More information about Project Ara can be seen in the video below:
