Huawei’s new router offers NFC for an easy Tap-to-connect feature
July 16, 2020

Now available for pre-order in Saudi Arabia.

Huawei today announced that pre-orders for the WiFi AX3 router has commenced. The router features NFC where users can take advantage of a Tap-to-connect feature so you don’t have to memorize or give away any passwords. This of course would require your device to have NFC, which thankfully nearly all smartphones already support.

If you’re using a Huawei smartphone, holding it near the Huawei WiFi AX3 router will make it start flashing repeatedly. A pop-up will then appear on your Huawei smartphone telling you that you can connect to the router. Alternatively, unsupported devices can still connect to the Huawei WiFi AX3 by pressing the ‘H’ button while holding it close to the router.

The Huawei WiFi AX3 also features a Gigahome quad-core 1.4GHz CPU that offers 12880 DMIPS of computing power. It also integrates the WiFi 6 support along with ODFMA that allows “multiple access to a single network channel by dividing it into different sub-channels,” which Huawei says can improve network efficiency.

The Huawei WiFi AX3 is available for pre-order for 249 SAR for the dual-core version and 349 SAR for the quad-core version. Each purchase will also include Huawei Car Charger CP37 and Huawei VIP Service.
