The electric-powered bicycle brings the retro vibes.
Harley Davidson is mostly famous for its motorcycle line, but its ebike company has just revealed the Serial 1, a new electric bike that keeps the design of the traditional bicycle. It was reported that the Serial 1 was made to entice younger customers to the brand amidst the lack of interest that was made worse by the pandemic.
It does look beautiful though, and the white tires blend perfectly to the dark-colored frame. The Serial 1 was made as a tribune to the Serial Number 1 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was released in the early 1900s.
“When Harley-Davidson first put power to two wheels in 1903, it changed how the world moved, forever,” says Aaron Frank, Brand Director for Serial 1 Cycle Company. “Inspired by the entrepreneurial vision of Harley-Davidson’s founders, we hope to once again change how cyclists and the cycling-curious move around their world with a Serial 1 eBicycle.”
The full specifications weren’t revealed yet since the Serial 1 is still in the prototype stage. The first image does point out that the electric bike will be belt-driven just like a normal bicycle, with the battery likely hidden inside the frame.
With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles and scooters, Harley Davidson is tapping into the same market with the hopes of bringing the Harley Davidson brand back into the spotlight.
