HBO is pulling all strings to prevent Game of Thrones plots from leaking

May 9, 2016

A certain ‘Spanish Spoiler’ has taken the interwebs that details plots of upcoming episodes.

The internet is a crazy place. And I make it a point that I stay away from it before watching my favorite shows – The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones included. But try as we might to stay away from these, some spoilers still leak out and somehow ruin the entire experience for some.

Take the case for Game of Thrones, HBO is doing all its might against a certain ‘Spanish Spoiler’ that’s detailing the plotlines for upcoming episodes. Episode analysis done by YouTubers are common, but for this particular user, he uploads it two days before a Game of Thrones episode airs – which lead other users to speculate that he has insider information about the HBO’s highest rated show.

To combat this, HBO has sent YouTube takedown notices for his videos, and even when you try to access it, you’ll only be greeted by a message saying: ‘This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Home Box Office, Inc.’

Spanish Spoiler’s videos claim that he mostly does predictions and other theories relating to the plot of Game of Thrones, but when his ‘predictions’ turned out to be true for the last two episodes, then someone will definitely have doubts.

While his video has been banned, he was contesting that not one frame of his video contains a scene from Game of Thrones, and is asking HBO is the takedown was legal. This somehow puts into question the various rules that should be followed – since well, he technically wasn’t doing anything illegal.

Game of Thrones is currently the most pirated TV show of all time, with thousands of illegal downloads being reported by torrent sites only after a few hours after it airs in the US.

As for me, I’m just glad [SPOILER ALERT] Jon Snow is alive.
