The newest budget smartphone.

Honor has officially taken the wraps off the Honor 9, the successor to the beautifully designed Honor 8. The smartphone belongs to the affordable lineup of devices which doesn’t compromise on design and performance. Major changes include a front facing fingerprint sensor (the Honor 8’s sensor was placed at the back) along with the same dual camera setup.

The curved back of the Honor 9 is made from metal and glass, which looks as premium as other high-end devices. Specifications include a 5.15-inch full HD screen with 4 GB/6 GB of RAM and 64 GB/128 GB of storage. It will be powered by the Kirin 960 octa-core processor plus the Mali-G71 to drive the graphics.

The dual camera setup on the Honor 9 include a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor plus a 12-megapixel RGB unit. The front facing camera will be at 8-megapixels. There is also a 3,200 mAh battery with support for wireless charging.

The Honor 9 will run on Android 7.0 Nougat using Honor’s own Emotion UI (EMUI) and will comes in colors of gold, black, blue and gray. The device will initially be available in China – no word yet on a Middle Eastern release date.
