Honor X9 5G: Truly empowering!

June 24, 2022

In all respects, the Honor  X9 5G represents the empowerment of today’s smartphone user, a sub 1,000 Dirham smartphone that meets performance benchmarks, looks rather beautiful and boasts a very competent camera system. I feel the recent launch of the flagship HONOR Magic4 Pro in many ways the coming-of-age of the Honor brand into the mainstream, linking to an ecosystem of wearables and laptops like the MagicBook line.

Positioning when it comes to a device is almost everything, isn’t it? In the case of the the Honor  X9 5G, the brand has bravely positioned as  a phone designed for entertainment, allowing users to immerse into experiences while watching videos or playing games.

A key attribute to support that statement would be the Fullview Display, as the X9 has rather impressive 6.81” FullView display, supporting a full high-definition of 2388×1080 pixels and 16.7 million colours, enhancing clarity, and offering a true-to-life viewing experience, bringing users the ideal companion for watching movies, browsing photos or gaming with friends. The Eye comfort mode which uses TÜV Rheinland-certified low-blue-light technology is great from a long term usage perspective.

Still on the visual entertainment focus, a key point that I would highlight is the 94% screen to body ratio. The X9 has 1.05mm super-narrow bezels on both left and right frames, 40% narrower than other smartphones in the same category. When it comes to the display, the higher the refresh rate, the smoother a customer experience is, and the X9 5G hits screen refresh rates of 120Hz and 60 fps, a very positive sign from a smoother web scrolling and gaming experience standpoint.

As for its gaming creds, the HONOR X9 5G is one of the first smartphones in the industry to be powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform, a fast mid-range ARM-based 6nm SoC  backed by the Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Kryo 660 CPU. Delivering robust performance upgrades, the processer offers a 15% improvement in CPU performance and packs new architecture for speeds of up to 2.2GHz. A key point here would be HONOR RAM Turbo (8GB+2GB), which was a feature the brand elaborated on even further in the flagship Magic4 Pro. This whole innovative functionality works by moving a portion of unused ROM to extra RAM, meaning 8GB RAM can be increased to 10GB RAM.

The camera is an easy standout here, with a 48megapixel main camera paired with 2 megapixel bokeh and 2 megapixel macro camera and a 16 megapixel f 2.5 front selfie camera. While there’s no 4K mode, for a vlogger or for your daily dose of Instagram, this is a very competent camera formation indeed.

For me as a user, this positive implications from a productivity multitasking standpoint as well, allowing me to run multiple apps simultaneously with nay a worry of lagging or crashing.

Come to the 4800mAh long-lasting battery, which on a single charge is easily enough for half a day of online video playback or a full day of phone calling. A key highlight on the battery front is Honors’ 66W Wired SuperCharge technology, which can juice up the X9 by 50% from flat in just 15 minutes and 81% in just 30 mins, The optimizations extend to the cooling as well, as the X9 also records low temperatures during charging.

Designwise, this looks brilliant, the camera unit on the Honor X9 5G is very much distinctive and loud in a good way, the device checks all the boxes for performance, and to top it all, it comes , The is easily most recommended!

The HONOR X9 is now available in UAE starting from AED999 (8GB+128GB) and AED1,099 (8GB+256GB) in Titanium Silver and Midnight Black, from leading retailers and the Honor online store
