HTC’s Smartphone Chief resigns

He was the man entrusted with turning HTC’s smartphone dreams into a reality. HTC has just posted on the Taiwan Stock Exchange official website the resignation of Chia-Lin Chang from his post as President of the Smartphone and Connected Devices Division. The statement reads “We can confirm Chia-Lin Chang has resigned from his position as President of the Smartphone and Connected Devices Business at HTC.  We thank him for his dedication to the Company for the last six years and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Chia-Lin Chang was previously the Taiwanese company’s Chief Financial Officer, and joined HTC in 2012 after stints at Motorola and Goldman Sachs.

While there’s no word on who will take over this role, Chairwoman and CEO Cher Wang is likely to be in charge till a replacement, if any, is found.
