Huawei nova 3e- A notch above the competition!

March 21, 2018

Huawei’s really on a roll right now. Post the Mate 10 and in between the hype [ok, make that mega-hype] that is preceding the upcoming launch of the P20 series, we have this latest entry into the nova line. The rather quirkily named Nova 3e is the for all intents and purposes, the P20 Lite.

But who’s complaining? This is the moment the notch design moved away from the flagship line to more affordable territory.

And for us in the UAE, there’s a biggie too. UAE consumers will be the first in the world to pre-book the nova 3e.

So what’s there to love?  A ton, as it turns out. The nova 3e is very symbolic of how the smartphone segment has levelled out, if you consider the specs it offers for AED 1,199.

The device comes in all guns blazing, starting with a handy 5.84-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080. Among devices near this price point, the camera specs on this device make it a strong contendor. The device has a dual-lens camera back camera one a 16MP f/2.0 aperture one paired with a 2MP f/2.2 sensor camera. And yes, the now-classic bokeh effects are very much possible here as well.  Come to the all-important front camera, and you again have 16MP f/2.0 camera, which enables wider angles shots, aka those all-important selfies.

Deep down, we have a Kirin 659 chip with 4 GB of RAM, along with 64 GB of built-in memory. Plus, its scalable, meaning you can add a microSD card and expand on that storage.

Come to the battery and a 3,000 mAh battery means you won’t have too many issues. For the little time that we’ve had the device, multitasking, with a few game sessions thrown into the mix, the device looks like it can easily be an asset from a productivity perspective.

UAE consumers will be the first in the world to pre-book the device, and the Huawei nova 3e is available for pre-booking now at the Huawei Experience Store located on level 2 at the Dubai Mall and across select retailers in Klein Blue and Midnight Black colors at a price of AED 1,199. Customers who pre-book the device also get exclusive service offers that includes one-time screen damage repair for initial 12 months.
