If you own a VAIO, don’t upgrade to Windows 10 just yet

August 13, 2015

Some problems might occur.

While everyone is still waiting for their Windows 10 update, many are already enjoying the new operating system from Microsoft. However, if you still use a Sony Vaio, the company is suggesting that you hold off upgrading until Sony can prepare the necessary drivers for these notebooks to work correctly under the new OS.

Even if you get the prompt to update to Windows 10, you may need to wait for Sony to roll out a system update to prepare your system – though that may mean waiting a couple more months before you can actually install it.

Even if Sony has sold off their Vaio business last year it is still offering support for customers using Vaio notebooks. Based on this post, Vaio notebooks with Windows 8.1 preinstalled will be able to update in October while notebooks that have Windows 8 preinstalled will get it in November.
