He is one of the cofounders of the company.
Android Central reports that OnePlus cofounder Cark Pei has left the company. This was confirmed after Pei is no longer seen on the company’s organizational chart.
Pei co-founded OnePlus in 2013 with CEO Pete Lau. The two previously worked for Oppo and quickly built one of the most recognized brands and Android devices in recent years. Pei was most recently seen during the launch of the OnePlus Nord a few months back. Reports said that Pei left OnePlus for another personal venture but it wasn’t made clear what he will be doing next.
His departure comes right before OnePlus is scheduled to announce the OnePlus 8T, the latest smartphone from the Chinese brand. An upgraded version of the OnePlus 8 released earlier this year, the OnePlus 8T will bring various hardware improvements along with Android 11 running out of the box.
