It is currently one of the most profitable mobile game developers at the moment.

Reuters reports that Tencent-owned TiMi Studios responsible, for games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings, has just earned around $10 billion in revenue just in 2020. That instantly makes TiMi Studios the world’s largest developer, beating other studios that have earned just over half of what the China-based developers did.

While many aren’t aware of who TiMi Studios is when compared to other mobile game developers, its launch of Call of Duty: Mobile quickly made it one of the biggest game launches in the world. When Call of Duty: Mobile launched in 2019, it has amassed more than 100 million downloads worldwide. Its other game Honor of Kings, which is only available in China, currently has 100 million daily active users.

The Verge reports that TiMi Studios is currently working on a new AAA game with a metaverse concept similar to the movie Ready Player One. This idea could also bring tie-ups with other brands, similar to what other games like Fortnite are doing.

It is also worth noting that Lightspeed & Quantum, which currently develops PUBG Mobile, is also owned by Tencent. PUBG Mobile has just recently crossed more than 1 billion downloads worldwide.
